The LSO, by law, is only permitted to provide guidance on licensing issues and cannot give legal advice. If you require such advice you must consult a licensing agent or solicitor.

Temporary Coronavirus Restrictions and Guidance
The LSO and Licensing Officers, in the licensing administration and support office, are not permitted to provide guidance on the above subject since this would cause mixed and incorrect information to be passed out that would not be at all helpful to anyone. If you have any queries concerning trading under the temporary restrictions please consult the Scottish Government's website. If you cannot find the information you are looking for please email our Environmental Health Team on ehts@eastlothian.gov.uk

General Functions of Licensing Standards Officer are shown in Section 14 (1)
of the Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005 and are as follows:

Providing information and guidance concerning the operation of the Act in East Lothian

Checking compliance by licensees

Offering mediation services to resolve disputes or disagreements between licence holders and other parties

What Licence Holders Need To Know -
some important points

Noise Nuisance - some questions that might assist in identifying if your premises is likely to be the source of noise nuisance.

Antisocial Behaviour - If you are a victim of noise nuisance, don't suffer in silence, tell the police on 101 or report the problem through the anti-social behaviour helpline on 01875824307.

Licensees - Contact Details
It is recommended that Licensees and Designated Premises Managers keep the LSO up to date with any new email addresses. This will greatly assist all in keeping those informed of essential information.
